FALL GUYS LEVEL - FANTASTIC JOYRIDE
A small time trial level I did on the Fall Guys Level Editor on my spare time. My goal was to make a short but sweet level that took the player on an intense roller coaster ride. I spent 2 days making it and had a lot of fun while doing it!
I followed the classic Super Mario formula where the player is introduced to a mechanic in a safe way. It then transitions to challenge the player and ends with a twist.

Core Mechanic: Fans
I chose the fans because they are a fun way to make the player move fast, but it also takes away some control from her. This is fun because in some cases it is the placement of the fans that determines where the player will end up, rather than the players controller input. This is great fo achieving the feeling of a roller coaster ride. By using the fans, I take control away from the player, and at times, make them feel like they might fall out of the map, while they in reality actually are quite safe as long as they don't do anything crazy.

The Challenge
The challenge consists of three parts. The first is a jump that is rather easy since the fans are guiding you. The second part is to get across the conveyor belts. With the right momentum from the previous jump and a bit of bravery, you can skip this part entirely. The last part is a jump over a rather big jump.
Twist and Conclusion
For the twist, I use the fans to funnel the player through a giant loop. I also introduce slippery floor to give the player more speed. This part was quite hard to get working in a polished way, but the intent is there. For the conclusion, the player needs to run on a thin platform and make a big jump. My intention here is to gets the players heart racing by making them feel that they almost won't make it, but in the end, they hopefully do!
